Cowboys rally past Eagles

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Brandon Aubrey kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired after Dak Prescott rallied Dallas from a 21-point deficit and the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in a mistake-filled thriller Sunday.

The Cowboys (5-5-1) converted on their third tiebreaking chance of the fourth quarter to extend Prescott’s home winning streak against NFC East opponents to 19 in their first game at AT&T Stadium since the death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

The Eagles (8-3) are still in good shape to be the first repeat winners in the NFC East since they won four in a row from 2001-04, but the offense reverted to the form that has frustrated A.J. Brown after the star receiver had a big hand in the 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Bears beat Steelers 31-28

CHICAGO (AP) — Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears didn’t have to face their old nemesis Aaron Rodgers to come away with a win.

Williams threw for three touchdowns and the Bears beat the Steelers 31-28 on Sunday. Rodgers didn’t play because of a broken left wrist. The longtime Packers QB has a 25-5 career record against the Bears.

Chicago won for the eighth time in nine games to improve to 8-3. After rallying in the final two minutes the previous three weeks, the Bears held onto a late lead this time. The Steelers fell to 6-5 and into a first-place tie with Baltimore in the AFC North.

Badgers top Illinois 27-10

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Darrion Dupree had 131 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 17 carries to lead Wisconsin to a 24-10 win over Illinois on Saturday night.

Dupree became Wisconsin’s first 100-yard rusher this season.

Dupree scored on an 84-yard run, the Badgers’ longest play from scrimmage this season, to push Wisconsin’s lead to 17-7 in the third quarter — Dupree’s first touchdown of the season and second of his career.

Darryl Peterson had three of Wisconsin’s five sacks of Illini quarterback Luke Altmyer. Illinois finished with 298 total yards.

Kuzdzal shines in Michigan win

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Michigan went further down the depth chart at running back — and still produced a 100-yard rusher.

Bryson Kuzdzal, asked to step up in the absence of Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall, ran for 100 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lift the 18th-ranked Wolverines over Maryland 45-20. Kuzdzal, a junior who had 25 career carries for Michigan before this weekend, had 20 more against the Terrapins as his team called his number throughout.

“We always say next man up, right? And it doesn’t really matter who it is — it’s nameless, faceless,” coach Sherrone Moore said. “There’s a standard of being a running back at Michigan.”

Moore said Marshall could have played Saturday if need be, but the Wolverines were able to hold him out with No. 1 Ohio State on the schedule next weekend. The availability of fullback Max Bredeson seems more dicey after he was on the sideline in crutches in the second half Saturday.

Thitikul tales Tour Championship

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Jeeno Thitikul has capped off her best year with the biggest prize in women’s golf. Thitikul had an early scare from fellow Thai Pajaree Anannarukarn. But she pulled away early on the back nine and closed with a 68 to win by four shots at the CME Group Tour Championship.

Nelly Korda finished third and ended the year without a victory. Thitikul is a repeat winner of the Tour Championship. The final birdie gave her the lowest scoring average in LPGA history. She also won the LPGA player of the year. And she won $4 million for her victory.

Starting at $3.50/week.
