NORWAY — Fender-to-fender racing made for night-long excitement at Norway Speedway in the racing season’s fifth week.

Adding to the nip-and-tuck racing was the second annual Sportsman Super Bowl, created to showcase one of Norway’s support division and give a class that usually only races for points a chance to receive a generous payout.

Dan Lindsley of Vulcan won the Coca Cola Late Model dash. He was followed by a hard-charging Jordan Ives and Dillon Kralovetz.

In the Auto Value super stocks, Kevin Peterson of Marinette led from start to finish, holding off Dave Fraser and John Mattia Jr., who finished second and third, respectively.

In the Coca Cola Late Model Division, doubling down on the night would be Lindsley.

He maneuverd his way through contact to gain an early lead. The former track champion never looked back in taking the checkered flag. Lindsley was trailed by Tom Lindquist, Ives, Joey Pontbriand and Kralovetz.

In the Auto Value Super Stock main event, Mark Jenshak, Tim Schultz Jr., Mattia Jr. and Mike Bubloni all came from the back of the field to battle for the lead. But at the end of the night it would be Jenshak coming home with his second feature win of the season. He was followed closely by Schultz, Mattia Jr., and Bubloni.

In the 141 Auto Sportsman Division, current points leader Preston Weddel took an early lead to create a sizeable gap. Joe Ostermann strategically worked his way through the pack to challenge Weddel.

It was a close one right up to the last turn but it would be Weddel that would be crowned this year’s “Super Bowl” winner. Escanab’s Paul Wagner finished third.

Zach Gazda won win his first Norway feature in the Jon Lasater Stock 4 Division. The victory also moved Gazda into a close second in the points standings behind Cody Skog. Jake Dulford finished second with Elliott Reid right on his tail in third.

In Sport Trucks, Drew Habeck made the pass for the lead on lap 7 and picked up the feature win. Jordan Fisher and Brent Barglind rounde out the top three, respectively.

The Stateline Automotive fast qualifier award went to late model’s Ives with a time of 14.862. In the Super Stock Division, Jenshak had the quickest time for the third time this year running a 15.915. Other number one qualifiers would be Anthony Schiefelbein in Sportsman Division, Jordan Fischer in Sport Trucks and Gazda in the Stock 4’s.
