Bluejays outlast Patriots in NLC boys basketball

THREE LAKES, Wis. — Three Lakes outlasted Goodman-Pembine 57-51 in double overtime Friday in Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball.

The Patriots (7-12, 5-8) trailed 25-24 at halftime but pulled ahead by nine points in the second half. The score was tied at 39 after regulation.

“Both teams struggled to score in a very physical game,’ said GP Coach John Swick. “We were able to build some leads but just couldn’t hold them.”

Wyatt Marcy led the Patriots with 14 points. Elisha Heath added nine points while Evan Metras, Hagan Braaten and Jared Knutson each had eight.

“They made the plays they needed to keep extending the game in both overtimes until we just ran out of luck in the end,” Swick said. “Hat’s off to them for getting the job done.

“This one really hurts and we need to let it go and get back to work Monday and build towards regionals.”

The Patriots, with three games left in the regular season, travel to White Lake on Tuesday.

Three Lakes won the JV game.
