FELCH — Bark River-Harris shot out to a 25-4 first-quarter lead and downed North Dickinson 82-41 in Skyline Central Conference boys basketball Tuesday at Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium.

The Wolves connected on 13 three-point field goals in the game.

“Coach V (Jim VanEnkevort) said that was the best they’ve shot all year,” said Nordics coach Chris Mattson. “We got blitzed in the first quarter.”

Hunter Debelak led the Broncos with 16 points. Ryan Arndt had all 10 of his points in the first quarter.

“Arndt will end up all-conference,” Mattson said. “He’s that caliber of player and set the tone. I was impressed with the way the (Ben) Schultz boy handled the ball.

“Bark River is a veteran team that has been playing together for a long time. They shoot that well in the tournamnt they’re going to have chance to make a run.”

Matthew Bruette scored 13 points for the Nordics (2-17, 2-9) and Quenten Ackerman added 11. Jared Miller had eight of the Nordics’ 21 rebounds.

North Dickinson shot 41 percent (19-46) from the floor.

“We shot the ball better than we usually do but we had 18 turnovers and not as many shots,” Mattson said.

The Nordics host Kingsford on Thursday to complete the regular season.

The Broncos defeated the Nordics 55-40 in the junior varsity game.
