KINGSFORD — Hailey Johnson and Caleb Plumley received MVP awards Sunday at the Kingsford High School swim team year-end awards banquet.
“With another year in the books, we had a little time to reflect on how our season went and after our showing at finals I think it went pretty well,” said Flivver coach Jim Lindstrom.
The co-op with Kingsford, Iron Mountain and Norway students competed Saturday in the UP Finals, with the boys finishing third and the girls fourth.
“That was a showing that no one expected except the kids on the team, of course,” Lindstrom said of a small boys team that challenged Houghton and Marquette. “They always set their sights high. It really shows how this team is headed in the right direction and continues to grow in numbers as it has this past year.”
