Florence routs Patriots

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence broke into the win column Tuesday, erupting for 13 runs in the last three innings to beat Goodman-Pembine 18-7 in Northern Lakes Conference baseball at Red Johnson Field.

Florence (2-8-1, 2-7) won the second game by forfeit when the Patriots’ roster dipped to eight players because of an injury.

Four Bobcats pitchers allowed three hits with 12 strikeouts and seven walks.

Lucas Krueger had four of Florence’s eight hits including a double. The sophomore scored five runs and knocked in four. Cody Reubens added a double.

Florence held a 5-4 lead after two innings. The Bobcats then struck for six runs in the third inning, three in the fourth and four in the fifth.

Florence visits White Lake on Thursday for a doubleheader.
