Harry Boyce, director of Team 1848 Grassroots Youth Hoops, has traveled the world in his basketball career.

One of those stops has been Hermansville for the famed Gold Medal Classic. Where does the crackerbox Community Center Gym rank among his many sites for basketball?

“Top five,” said Boyce, a Green Bay high school star who played professionally in Europe.

Boyce, hosting his Work-Some-More Summer Skills Camp at the Florence Elementary School gym, cited the Gold Medal atmosphere. He was impressed by the jam-packed gym with the diminutive court, and the players giving their all primarily for love of the game.

Gold Medal director Raymond Bray calls Boyce a “top-notch player, person and coach.”

“Harry knows the game,” Bray said.
