Legion Baseball: Niagara begins regional tourney

DENMARK, Wis. — Rain put a damper on Niagara’s start in the American Legion Class A regional baseball tournament Friday.
Niagara built a 4-0 lead over Northern Door in the second inning before rain halted play. The game will be resumed at 10:30 this morning.
After a scoreless first inning, Niagara scored four runs in the second inning. The game was then halted with two outs in top of the second inning.
Walks to Justin Bal and Adam Faull sandwiched a Trey Doda single. Isaac Ray’s ground out scored one run. Micah Wilson added a two-run single and Kevin Evosevich singled home another run.
In earlier games Friday, Wrightstown downed Valders 7-1 and Denmark nipped Little Chute 2-1.
