Volleyball: Flivvs bounce back to beat Lakeland, 3-2
MINOCQUA, Wis. — Kingsford recovered from a slow start to sink Lakeland 3-2 (14-25, 20-25, 25-20, 27-25, 19-17) in non-conference volleyball Tuesday.
“We started out the night in slow motion, really struggling to get into a rhythm,” said Kingsford head coach Jaclynn Kreider. “We just could not take control away from Lakeland. Their serving was creating some problems for us at first as well.”
Kreider said her Flivvers “finally came alive” in the third set.
“We tightened up our passing which allowed us to run our offense,” said Kreider, noting that middles Aby Pickett and Tori Kowalkowski “executed in the front row to give us the edge in a tight set.”
Olivia Allen’s 14 kills, Brooke Kriegl’s 26 digs and Katherine Erickson’s 23 assists topped the Flivvers.
The Flivvers host Gladstone on Thursday.
