APPLETON, Wis. — Northern Lights YMCA Swim Team, along with some members of the Kingsford High School squad, competed in the Fox City Fall Invite.

They swam against Fox City YMCA, Oshkosh YMCA, Marquette YMCA and the Green Bay YMCA.

“Five high school swimmers enjoyed swimming YMCA before the high school swimming season began,” said NLY coach Tony Adams, referring to Sydney Scott, Samantha Scott, Emily Nelson, Ailie Schoenborn and Emily Bruns. “Every swim meet gives different challenges and several swimmers took the opportunity to get a personal best.”

Elena Nelson took almost 10 seconds off her 100 breaststroke time, 10 seconds off her 100 free time and 22 seconds off her 200 free time. Emily Nelson shaved time in all three of her events, including over 18 seconds in her 200 back.

Sierra Scott improved on her 100 free, 50 fly, 50 free and dropped over 10 seconds in her 200 IM.

Harvey Smith continued improving his time in the 25 back and the 50 free.

The next swim meet will be a “home” meet in Escanaba with the Delta portion of the NLY swim team Saturday at the YMCA pool at Bay De Noc East.
