Baseball: Flivvers outscore Maroons 17-10 in GNC

MENOMINEE – Kingsford piled on 16 hits in a 17-10 Great Northern Conference win over Menominee on Friday.

The Flivvers (1-2) racked up 16 hits including a 3 for 3 night by Luke Terrian. Noah Wilcox had three hits. Hunter Lindeman, Jesse Julian, Andrew Paupore and Nolan LaVarnway had two hits apiece. Sawyer Pugh and Colin Erickson each had a hit.

Paupore pitched five innings for Kingsford, giving up three runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Lindeman pitched the final two innings and gave up six runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Kingsford staked a 9-3 lead after three innings, then made it a 13-3 lead after four. The Maroons scored a run each in the fifth and sixth, then added a five-run outburst in the seventh.

Carter Kreski, Lindeman, Terrian, Wilcox, Julian, Paupore and LaVarnway each scored at least twice for the Flivvers.

The Flivvers visit Gladstone on Monday.
