Niagara basketball great Anna DeForge will be the featured speaker for the Hometowne Athlete of the Year banquet Wednesday, June 5, at Recreation Lanes. The banquet recognizes the area’s premier high school athletes.

The date, according to coordinator Mike Caruso, works out well for the former University of Nebraska and WNBA star as she has a basketball camp planned for that time.

The busy Caruso, emcee for the UP Sports Hall of Fame banquet, is the Twin City source for tickets for the May 11 event at the Island Resort and Casino. Kingsford’s Chris Hofer and North Dickinson’s Todd (Indiana) Lindeman are among the inductees …
