Novara named Kingsford head football coach

KINGSFORD — Mark Novara was promoted to Kingsford High School head football coach and Greg Wadge was retained as hockey coach during Monday’s Breitung Township Schools Board of Education.

Novara, one of two applicants for the position, replaces Chris Hofer who stepped down after 33 seasons with the program. Novara, a Kingsford grad and longtime assistant, set passing records at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis.

Wadge moved from assistant to interim head coach when Dennis Murvich resigned during the 2019 season. Wadge was previuusly the Flivver head coach from 1999 to 2007.
