Tennis: IM beats Gwinn, 6-2

GWINN — Iron Mountain rolled over Gwinn 6-2 to complete the boys tennis regular season Tuesday.

The teams dealt with windy conditions, according to Mountaineers coach Tony Tatangelo.

“Most of the boys were firing on all cylinders,” Tatangelo said. “(No. 1 singles) Ryan Hakamaki came out strong with great court awareness and shot placement. There wasn’t much that was getting past him today.”

“Our doubles teams all played well in their flights and were talking and having fun.”

Tatangelo said No. 2 doubles Gabe Richtig-Brenden LaPoint ” came out strong with several cross-court shots and put aways. (No. 1 doubles) Jaden Vicenzi and Joey Bogaudo meant business. It was fun to watch all the doubles talking out here and moving the way they should.”

The Mountaineers compete Thursday in the Mid-Peninsula Conference tournament at Westwood.
