NORWAY — Norway’s Trey Doda and Kody Hendricks have been named to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Division 4 All-Region 25 team.

Doda, a senior infielder, hit for a .354 batting average. He went 5 for 5 with two doubles in the Knights’ super regional loss to Gaylord St. Mary.

Hendricks, a junior pitcher, registered a 4-0 pitching mark with a 2.27 earned run average.

Rudyard catcher Dylan Mills and Bark River-Harris sophomore outfielder Aiden Johnson also represented the UP on the Division 4 all-region team.

Norway’s Randy VanGasse, who has over 300 career wins, and Gaylord St. Mary’s Matt Nowicki shared region coach of the year.

The Knights had five players on the all-district team — Doda and Hendricks along with senior outfielder Bret Turini, senior catcher Payton Thompson and junior infielder Parker Lasater.

Hendricks was selected the MHSBCA academic all-district team. Bark River’s Jackson Bower, with a 3.94 grade point average, was the lone UP player on the academic all-region team.
