Soccer: Northern Stars improve mark to 4-0

NIAGARA, Wis. — Northern Stars U19 boys improved to 4-0 after defeating Green Bay Synergy 7-0 and Appleton Terror Pride 7-2.

In the Synergy game, Stars scored four goals in the first 10 minutes to take a commanding lead. Kobe Gordon opened the scoring, with Jurgen Kleiman, Ben Backlund and Caleb Plumley also scoring early.

Gordon scored again later in the first half, and Backlund and Myles Carey scored second half goals.

In the Appleton game, exchange student Pablo Cano Sarobe, playing his final game with the Stars, scored two first-half goals and the game was tied 2-2 at halftime.

Early in the second half, Kleiman broke the tie with a solid 20-yard shot to the left corner. Gordon also scored and Backlund recorded a second half hat trick (three goals) as the Stars dominated the second half.

Stars play their last home game of the season Sunday beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Riverside Park in Niagara.
