Baseball: Channing routs State Farm, 14-1

CHANNING — Channing scored early and often in a 14-1 Superiorland Baseball League win over Jill Leonard-State Farm on Monday.

The Railroaders (5-1) got three hits from Kenny Pekarek, including a fly ball to left that bounced off the top of the fence.

Lane Holsworth, Luke Holsworth, Wade Holsworth Brad Gustafson, Tyler Miller, Conor Berndt, Bryce Jauquet, Bryon Harper and Adam Niemi recorded hits for Channing.

Kyle Sexton took the win on the mound for the Railroaders. Pekarek also pitched.

Shane Johnston took the loss for State Farm (0-6).

Coldwell Banker 11, Blagec Heating 1

Paul Storm hit a homerun, double and drew two walks to lead Coldwell Banker over Blagec Heating in five innings. Craig Storm and Kyle Storm had two singles apiece. Gabe Daavettila gave up a walk and a home run to Ethan Blagec.

ALSO: The Marquette County Mavericks beat Negaunee 13-2, but no other information was provided.
