Kingsford tennis optimistic as season progresses

IRON RIVER — West Iron defeated Kingsford 5-3 in girls tennis Thursday, sweeping the four doubles matches.

Rutter noted the standout performance by her No. 1 Doubles team of Anna Murvich and Bailey Johnson versus the

Further down the schedule, The Great Northern Conference Meet is at Kingsford on September 25. Kingsford is in Division 1 for the U.P Finals, which will be held in Negaunee on October 2.

Of the returning players from last season, Rutter notes that Stephanie List earned All U.P first-team honors in 2018. All U.P Honorable Mention junior Teagen Petschar, who’s double’s partner Anne McCole graduated, also return for this season.
