Prep football: Norway JV wins
ISHPEMING — In a driving rainstorm, the Norway Knights JV football team defeated the Hematites of Ishpeming, with an unusual way to get on the scoreboard occurring in the first half.
The host Hematites took a 6-0 lead. Norway then added a safety on consecutive Ishpeming drives to bring the score to 6-4. The Knights went on to win 30-14.
Norway quarterback Nathaniel Nanney threw for two touchdown passes. Michael Peterson and Zac Pellegrini each added two touchdowns, one receiving and one rushing apiece. Gabe Hautamaki added a rushing touchdown as well.
Norway hosts rival Iron Mountain Thursday night at Ronberg Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
