ISHPEMING — In non-conference girls tennis Thursday, West Iron defeated Ishpeming 8-0.

“It was cold and wet, but we snuck the meet in” said West Iron coach Joe Serbentas. “All the matches went smooth. Kali Dennis (WIC) versus Ella Luke (ISH) was a very competitive match. Best match of the evening.”

Dennis defeated Luke 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in the No. 2 singles tilt.

Lady Wykons, now 4-3 on the season, travel to Menominee on Monday for Great Northern Conference action. A trip to Ironwood is in store for them the following day.
