Flivver frosh football tackles JV squad

KINGSFORD — On Friday day night at Flivver Field prior to the varsity contest, the Kingsford freshmen beat Red Wing, Minnesota JV team 28-6.

The offense rushed for 311 yards. Nic Nora ran for 104 yards and two scores. Cole Myllyla ran for 102 yards and two scores.

“The offensive line did a nice job opening things up for the backs. It was a close game until the defense came up with a turnover and then we scored right before the half to go up 21-0,” said head coach Jim Myllyla.

Kingsford scored on the opening drive of the third quarter to go up 28-0. Nora and Bryce Wenzel both had interceptions on defense.

The Flivvers’ next game is Rhinelander, Wis., at home Thursday, before ending the season on the road at Marquette on Thursday, Oct. 24.
