NORWAY — Niagara took charge in the second half to beat Norway 49-28 in non-conference girls basketball Friday.

The Badgers outscored the Knights 36-13 over the second half.

“Again we are a team of halves,” said Norway Coach Joe Tinti, who once coached at Niagara. “We went into half with a (13-11) lead that quickly diminished with Niagara lighting up the free throw line and a poor shooting percentage for us the entire second half.”

Niagara converted 10 of its 11 free throws in the second half. Norway hit five of its 11 field goals in the second half.

“We will continue to work hard to put in a complete game,” Tinti said.

Badgers’ Jessica Oratch scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the second half. Mackenzie Clifford and Kassi Gyselinck each scored nine points to lead Norway.
