Hornets slip past Lady Cats 46-41

ELCHO, Wis. — Florence took an early lead before falling to Elcho 46-41 in Northern Lakes Conference girls basketball Friday.

“It was back and forth, a well-played game,” said Florence coach Brad Perry. “The balls bounced their way a couple more times than ours.”

Jenna Springer scored 15 points and Jordyn Springer added 13 for the Lady Bobcats.

Florence led 23-14 in the first half before the Purple Hornets rallied. “We had a couple mental lapses and let them back in,” Perry said.

Lacey Enders contributed seven points for Florence and Madison Neuens had four points and seven rebounds. Paige Uren and Faith Neuens each had one point to round out Florence’s scoring.

Haley Behrmann had seven rebounds.

Florence (3-4, 1-1) hosts Crandon on Tuesday.
