K-Stars post unbeaten mark, 3 shutouts in Chicago showcase

IRON MOUNTAIN — Former Dickinson Amateur Hockey Association player Aziza Burgoon and her K-Stars teammates competed in a showcase in Chicago recently.

The girls toured the Chicago Blackhawks locker room at their practice facility and took photos with the Stanley Cup.

They finished the showcase posting a 3-0-1 record with shutout wins.

The downstate Kalkaska-based team has girls from the UP and northern lower Michigan. They currently hold a 19-4-3 record with a No. 4 national ranking among 19u Tier II girls teams.
