Bobcats maul Wildcats, 78-49
FLORENCE — Riley Hixon’s 23 points led three Bobcats in double figures as Florence cruised past Lena 78-49in non-conference action Monday night.
Hixon scored the first 15 of his team’s 19 points.
“Overall, a nice win for us, we are learning to and starting to see the right things,” said Florence coach Bryan Bomberg. “Lena kept switching up their half court defense and I thought we adjusted to it well”
Max Beyer of Lena led all scorers with 27 points, including five 3-pointers.
Kaden Schuls canned 19 points for Florence, with Evan Johnson chipping in 16. Preston Stoltz led the Bobcats with 11 rebounds in what was a makeup game from Dec. 9.
Florence (5-2), returns to action tonight, hosting Goodman-Pembine in a Northern Lakes conference tilt.
In the JV contest, Florence defeated Lena 39-28. Dominic DeMuri netted 18 points, while Tyler Novak added 10 points for the Bobcats.
