Jets take down Nordics 67-53

FELCH — North Dickinson, despite four players reaching double figures, fell to North Central 67-53 in Skyline Central Conference action Monday evening.

Noah Gorzinski canned a game-high 18 points for the Jets, who improved to 4-2 on the season. NC, who is the No. 5 ranked team in this week’s UPSSA boys basketball poll, had Luke Gorzinski chip in 16 points.

The Nordics had three players play their best game of the season thus far, according to head coach Chris Mattson.

Brennan Donaldson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Maximus Mattson scored a team high 17 points.

“Max penetrated well and played a solid all around game,” Mattson noted. “Justin Slagle played very well on both ends of the court tonight.”

Cameron Schultz added 11 points and five assists in the losing effort.

“I was happy with the way we played tonight,” Mattson said. “The tempo of the game favored us in the first half, we took quality shot and turned the ball over a lot less than our last game with only 12.”

ND (1-5) hosts Superior Central Thursday. North Central (4-2) is off until Monday when Rapid River visits. NC won the JV game.
