NORWAY — Andie Arsenault scored 25 points to power North Central past Norway, 58-42, in Skyline Central Conference girls basketball Thursday.

The Jets, who led 33-23 at halftime, also got 14 points from Jaiden Fleetwood.

Kassi Gyselinck led Norway with 17 points and Danae Anderson scored 10.

“We knew we would give Arsenault some open looks in our zone defensive sets and she took advantage of those looks down the stretch as we started to get tired,” Norway coach Joe Tinti said. “We played some real nice basketball at times and continued to show the improvement we have made since the beginning on the season. I am starting to see us do the little things right, and that’s exciting.”

The Knights closed the gap to 40-36 entering the fourth quarter but could muster only six points from there. Arsenault drained three triples in the frame to seal the win.

“We ran out of gas and didn’t hit our open looks down the stretch,” Tinti said.

Norway (1-10) will host Stephenson on Tuesday. North Central (5-3) is at Superior Central tonight.

The Norway jayvees won 41-26 to improve to 11-0.
