Trojan boys silence undefeated Mustangs

MUNISING — Forest Park handed Munising its first loss of the season, prevailing 35-20 in Skyline Central Conference boys basketball Thursday.

“Obviously our defense played one heck of a game and we played really hard and rebounded well against a really good Munising team,” Forest Park coach Kurt Lehmann said. “They had a few chances to go on a run, but we were able to shut it down with a couple key buckets.”

Tommy Showers led Forest Park with nine points. Tommy Peltoma and Gavin Johnson added seven points each.

“We took them by surprise, which frustrated them,” Lehmann said. “Plus, they missed some shots early, which frustrated them as well.”

The Mustangs (8-1) were held to just five points in the first half.

Forest Park (4-3) will go to Bark River-Harris on Monday.
