Schuls nets 32 as Bobcats tip Patriots

PEMBINE, Wis — Florence senior Kaden Schuls canned 32 points and teammate Patrick Milan recorded a double-double of 12 points and a team-high 14 rebounds, as the Bobcats stymied Goodman-Pembine 75-60 here Tuesday night.

Riley Hixon also scored in double figures, netting 15 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the Bobcats.

The Northern Lakes Conference matchup was a one-point game at the half, with Florence pulling away after the break, to improve to 15-4 (10-2 in the NLC).

Bobcats head coach Bryan Bomberg noted that G-P played hard on both ends of the floor, while also noting how hard Milan worked on the glass.

“We came out slow and lacked added boost until after halftime,” Bomberg said. “We got some transition buckets in the second half to pull away for the win.”

Head coach Jeff Zerbst and the Patriots (7-11) travel to White Lake on Thursday night for a NLC game. Florence returns home for the rest of the regular season, first hosting non-conference opponent Wausaukee on Friday night.

In M&O Conference boys basketball Tuesday, Niagara fell to Phelps 51-28. The Badgers (3-16) play at Wausaukee Thursday.
