UP All-Star Football Game organizer to hand out gear at schools across the region

MIDDLETON, Wis. — U.P. All-Star Football Game organizer Todd Goldbeck will travel through the U.P. beginning Saturday to drop off and hand out All-Star game gear.

The game, originally scheduled for June 27 at the Superior Dome at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, was postponed to Aug. 1 and then outright cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Goldbeck will make stops at these area schools on these dates and times:

— Saturday at 1:15 p.m. at North Central High School in Powers. Pick-up will be for North Dickinson County players as well, unless arrangements are made to pick up in Iron Mountain.

— Thursday, 1:30 p.m. at West Iron County High School in Iron River; at 2:15 p.m. at Forest Park High School in Crystal Falls; and 3:15 p.m. at Iron Mountain High School . Kingsford and Norway players will pick up their gear at that time as well.

There are players who were selected to play in the game from nearly every U.P. school.

This year would have been the 13th annual event, with all of the games being held at the Superior Dome.
