WFCA All-Star Game canceled

OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Executive Board announced that the 2020 High School Football All-Star games scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled.

The three games, which were to be played at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titan Stadium, are to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Two Florence 2020 graduates are on the roster of the North squad for the 8-player game — running back and safety Kaden Schuls, and quarterback, linebacker and punter Toby Wheeler. The duo join former Bobcats Eric DeCremer and Joe Walstrom, who were both selected in 2018, as 8-player All-Star game selections.

The initial suspension of the games was due to the fact that both the UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater campuses are closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The two schools host practices for the players before the three all-state games are played.

The cancellation of the game is due to the fact that the two campuses remain closed, and the pandemic remains a concern for the safety of everyone involved.

Starting at $3.50/week.
