NORWAY TOWNSHIP — For the second time in as many days, Norway hosted a home girls tennis meet at Marion Park. Their Wednesday opponent was Ishpeming, who defeated the Lady Knights 8-0 in non-conference action.
“Kali (Stanchina) at No. 1 singles and Donna (Van Holla) at No. 2 singles really battled it out. Kassi (Gyselinck) and Gabby (Leiker) at No. 1 doubles fought hard as well,” said Norway coach Cassandra Gustafson.
Gustafson added that both doubles teams really improved their positioning and play in their match.
“Marley (Tobey) did great for her first singles match ever,” Gustafson said. “Overall we improved individually and I’m happy with that.”
Norway returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Escanaba for non-conference action.
