Norway tennis bows to Munising

NORWAY TOWNSHIP — In non-conference girls tennis action on Friday afternoon, Norway took on Munising at Marion Park. The Lady Mustangs defeated the host Lady Knights 8-0.

“Even though the matches don’t look that close, we had some close sets. The doubles teams have really improved their positioning and communication, especially Averie (Popp) and Andi(Carlson),” said Norway coach Cassandra Gustafson.

“The singles girls need to work a little more on their ground strokes before the U.P.’s, and then hopefully we will be ready to compete next week,” Gustafson added.

Both the Knights and the Mustangs will compete in Division 3 of U.P.Tennis Finals, which will be held at various courts throughout Iron Mountain and Kingsford.
