LadyCats squish Hornets

FLORENCE, Wis. — In what was their third game in the last four days, Florence powered past Northern Lakes Conference foe Elcho 64-39 here Friday night in game two of a varsity doubleheader.

Florence was led by senior Lacey Enders’ double- double of 23 points and 14 rebounds, and freshman Isabella Millan’s game-high 29 points, along with grabbing nine rebounds.

“Tonight was our first complete performance of the season, from beginning to end,” said Florence head coach Brad Perry. “We responded so well from our disappointing loss last night, we made good decisions throughout the game and I couldn’t be happier with their performance.”

The LadyCats lost to non-conference foe Wausaukee Thursday night, a game that was one Perry thought the team had a very good chance to win.

Versus Elcho, Florence led by 17 points at halftime. “The girls played more aggressive tonight as well,” Perry added. “Whatever changes or adjustments I had to call timeout and make, the girls responded well to them.”

Florence, who improves to 4-7 on the season, remain home to host NLC powerhouse Crandon on Monday.
