SAULT STE. MARIE — Purdue University-Northwest women’s basketball freshman Mercedes Simmons netted 13 points, four rebounds and one block in the team’s 61-52 win over Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Lake Superior State on Sunday.
Simmons played 15 minutes off the bench for the Pride. who improve to 1-3 (1-3 GLIAC) on the season.
LSSU defeated PNW 60-58 on Saturday.
Simmons, a 2020 Forest Park graduate, was Dream Team selection by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters in 2019-20.
