Iron Mountain thumps Houghton

Wonders scores 27; 5 treys for Brown

HOUGHTON — Foster Wonders netted a game-high 27 points and Ricky Brown drained 15 points, all from behind the 3-point arc, as Iron Mountain blasted Houghton 56-22 in a West PAC Conference boys basketball game here Thursday night.

“It was a good win on the road for us. Houghton played a funky defense and stalled most of the night on offense,” said Iron Mountain head coach Harvey” Bucky” Johnson. “We were able to work on some different defenses to change the tempo.”

Johnson also noted that Brown shot the ball very well. Wonders grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The Mountaineers, who improve to 8-0 (5-0 West PAC, 1-0 Mid Peninsula) return home to host Mid Peninsula Conference foe Gladstone on Monday night, before traveling to West PAC/Mid Pen foe Negaunee on Thursday.
