Jets handle North Dickinson

POWERS — Andie Arsenault netted a game high 17 points Monday night, as the North Central Jets defeated North Dickinson 51-35 in Skyline Central girls basketball action.

Nordics sophomore Micah Lindholm recorded a double double of 13 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Ashton Hord chipped in 11 points and dished out seven assists.

“We struggled shooting tonight, we missed way to many shots,” said ND head coach Kirk Mattson. “It was a physical game, which we expected down there, but more like a rugby match. It wasn’t basketball.”

Freshman Gracie Kleikamp netted nine points on three trifectas, while teammates Sam Burton and Shea LaCouriser each chipped in eight points for the Jets and first year coach Pete Schlenvogt.

“I thought my girls played with heart and class tonight, despite the physical game and I couldn’t be prouder,” Mattson exclaimed. “We will definitely be working on shooting in practice.”

There was no JV contest as the Jets do not field a JV team this season.

ND (1-2, 1-2 SCC) return home to host rival and SCC foe Forest Park on Thursday night. North Central travels to Rapid River on Thursday, and to Norway on Friday, both games being Skyline matchups.
