IRON MOUNTAIN — Mountaineers Senior Eli Lofholm was excited and thankful Wednesday afternoon as he signed to play football at St. Norbert College.

The Iron Mountain signal caller was a West PAC Conference Copper Division honorable mention in 2020.

“Overall, St Norbert was the best fit for me education wise, but also for football,” Lofhom said.

Lofholm was thankful of the Iron Mountain coaches, his parents, but especially his teammates. “They were the ones out on the practice field, pushing me to get to where I am at now,” he said.

In the Mountaineers’ 2020 Division 8 Regional championship game versus Johannesburg-Lewiston at the Superior Dome in Marquette, the son of Gary and Christie Lofholm sustained a foot injury playing defense that turned out to be a fracture. He came back in the game and played despite having limited mobility, a testament to his toughness and leadership.

Lofholm is going to major in business administration and minor in pre engineering. He was also recruited by Lakeland University, Benedictine, Wisconsin Lutheran and University of Wisconsin-Stout.
