IRON MOUNTAIN -- Posting 37 points in the first quarter, Iron Mountain defeated Ironwood 83-44 in boys basketball Thursday, improving to 5-0.
Foster Wonders finished with 40 points, including 23 in the first-quarter onslaught. For the night, he was 8 for 11 from beyond the arc.
Bryce Pietrantonio recorded 10 steals for the Mountaineers to go with eight points and five rebounds. Caleb Evosevich-Hynes also chipped in eight points and Wonders was the leading rebounder with seven.
Von Lyons scored 10 points to lead Ironwood.
"Overall, a good win," said Mountaineers coach Bucky Johnson. "We were aggressive but we fouled too much."
The Red Devils (1-2) scored 16 of their points from the charity stripe.
The Iron Mountain jayvees won 58-38, led by Reece Kangas' 18 points.
The Mountaineers travel to Hancock tonight.
