Undefeated Broncos tip Knights, 43-38

NORWAY — The Bark River-Harris Broncos (4-0) grabbed another win to start the season Monday night, this one on the road against the Norway Knights.

“We got into a battle,” said Broncos coach Marc Zawacki. “We got up a little early on and then let them back in. We had to make some adjustments in halftime and after the third quarter. That’s what helped us.”

Nick Javurek led Bark River with 18 points.

“I thought Nick had a good hustle game tonight,” said Zawacki. “That is one thing we talked about.

“When it came down to crunch time, Joey Stein hit two big free throws. he kind of put the game away with those two. It was a good team win … a good overall team effort.”

The Broncos head to Carney to play the Wolves tomorrow, then play Forest Park Friday.

“There were some things we did better tonight. I thought Drew Anderson came in and did some nice things for us. We had our chances tonight,” said Norway head coach Jeff Gallino. “We need to be better at the free throw line and taking care of the basketball. We are back at it tomorrow and hopefully we continue to get better with each contest.”

Norway (2-2, 2-1 SCC) entertains Forest Park tonight, before hosting North Central on Friday.
