FLORENCE, Wis. -- The Florence baseball team broke a four-game losing streak here Thursday afternoon, as they won game two of a Northern Lakes Conference doubleheader 18-7 over Elcho.
The Purple Hornets won game won, 4-0.
In the opener, Cole Sweig pitched all seven innings for the Bobcats, walking two, fanning three and allowing five hits.
Tyler Novak led Florence with two hits. The Bobcats fanned 10 times.
In game two, Florence used four pitchers with sophomore Evan Johnson taking the win. The four who toed the mound combined for nine strikeouts and five walks. They gave up six hits.
Novak, Logan Schuls and Joey Holmstrom each had two hits for the Bobcats in the nightcap. Cody Reubens had 3 RBI's as did Johnson who got his on a bases-clearing triple.
On Tuesday, the Bobcats lost to Three Lakes 13-0 in 5 innings in Florence.
Florence, who is 4-4 (3-4 NLC), travels to non-conference foe Wausaukee on Tuesday.
