NIAGARA, Wis. -- In a Marinette-Oconto Conference softball game, Niagara senior pitcher Noelle Champagne threw a complete game with eight strikeouts, as the Lady Badgers defeated Wausaukee 10-3 on Monday.
Champagne scored three runs and drove in two more. Niagara's Jadah McCarthy also drove in two runs, as the Badgers jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings of play.
"Nice conference win today. Jadah McCarthy and Abigail Richtig had key hits in big spots. We are getting better, but a big test with Goodman-Pembine coming into town Tuesday," said Niagara coach Brad Richtig. "They are on a roll right now, and we know it."
The Lady Patriots are a non-conference opponent for Niagara this afternoon. The Badgers host M&O opponent Gillett-Suring on Thursday.
