Flivvs soccer notches shutout
HOUGHTON — Ericka Malone scored four goals, and teammate Brooke Bittinger tallied two goals and two helpers, as Kingsford powered past Houghton 8-0 here Thursday to remain undefeated.
“I thought our touches and passing were crisp at the start. We really controlled the midfield with (Ashley) DeMay, Brooke (Bittinger), (Peyton) Johnson, and (Liz) Penegor,” said Kingsford head coach Jon Lorenzoni. “Another shutout for our defense, and freshman Megan Bittinger got her first of what’s sure to be many goals as a Flivver.”
The Flivvers travel to Marquette on Monday for a rematch after a tie earlier this season.
