GILLETT, Wis. -- Senior Noelle Champagne pitched a compete game, fanning nine batters, as Niagara cruised past Gillett-Suring 14-3 here Monday in a Marinette-Oconto Conference softball game.
Lillian Loukus had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two runs to lead the Lady Badgers offensively. Abby Wells stole four bases for Niagara, while teammate Aiva Champeau cracked a triple.
"We came out jittery early on but settled down. Overall, today was a nice team win in conference play," said Niagara head coach Brad Richtig. "Aiva Champeau and Lilly Loukus had nice hits tonight."
Champagne scored three runs, while Wells, Champeau, Jadah McCarthy and Abigail Richtig joined Loukus with scoring a pair of runs.
The Badgers return to M&O Conference action on Thursday, as they travel to Marinette, to take on St. Thomas Aquinas-Lena.
