MIAMI (AP) — Tyrone Taylor hit a two-out, tiebreaking single in the 10th inning, and seven Milwaukee Brewers pitchers combined on a six-hitter to beat the Miami Marlins 2-1 Sunday.

Anthony Bass (1-3) retired the first two batters in the 10th, but after an intentional walk, Taylor’s hit brought home automatic runner Pablo Reyes from second.

Josh Hader (3-0) pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 0.71. Drew Rasmussen pitched the 10th and earned his first career save by working around a two-out walk and stranding automatic runner Lewis Brinson at third.

The Brewers finished 2-5 on their trip after losing the first five games.

“You’re happy with the group, and how we responded after a tough little stretch,” manager Craig Counsell said. “A lot of people doing good stuff is promising.”

The Brewers have endured a wave of injuries, including in the absence of slugger Christian Yelich, who has played in only one game since April 11.

“Anybody on the team can get it done,” first baseman Daniel Vogelbach said. “Yeli hasn’t been in our lineup, and people say we’re not hitting. But we feel like somebody every night gets a big hit or makes a play. As you get deeper in the season, and everybody has been through situations with runners in scoring position, that’s just going to make us better.”

Vogelbach hit his third home run in the fourth, and Brinson’s second homer in the Miami seventh made it 1-all.

Miami’s Sandy Alcantara allowed one run in seven innings, lowering his ERA to 2.72.

Brewers left-hander Brett Anderson, sidelined since April 23 with a strained right hamstring, started and pitched three shutout innings.

Yelich (lower back strain) has changed exercises and is playing catch but not hitting.

The Brewers today have their first day off since April 22. RHP Freddy Peralta (3-1, 3.38) is scheduled to start Tuesday in Milwaukee to begin a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Nolan Arenado homered against his former team, Adam Wainwright pitched three-hit ball into the ninth inning and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies.

Yadier Molina hit an RBI double and Ryan Helsley got Josh Fuentes to ground into a game-ending double play with the bases loaded for his second career save and first this season. St. Louis completed a three-game sweep and has won nine of 11 overall.

YANKEES 3, NATIONALS 2

NEW YORK (AP) — Giancarlo Stanton hit a game-ending single off Brad Hand in the ninth inning, and New York beat Washington for its second straight walk-off win over the Nationals.

Hand (2-1) walked Tyler Wade and pinch-hitter Aaron Judge starting the ninth, a day after walking his first batter and blowing ninth- and 10th-inning leads in a game the Yankees won 4-3 in 11 innings.

One out later, Stanton lined a slider into left field for his 24th RBI this season and just the fifth hit of the game for the Yankees. METS 4, DIAMONDBACKS 2

NEW YORK (AP) — Two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom was pulled after five innings with right side tightness in his return from an injury to a similar area, and New York won its fifth in row.

DeGrom (3-2) was perfect through four innings but labored in the fifth, then called for the trainer after throwing two warmup pitches ahead of the sixth. He was scheduled for an MRI.

PIRATES 6, CUBS 5

CHICAGO (AP) — Tyler Anderson pitched eight solid innings and Pittsburgh held on in the ninth to end Chicago’s five-game winning streak.

Wilmer Difo had three hits and drove in three runs as the Pirates won for just the third time in their last 20 games at Wrigley Field.
