Florence recognizes top athletes

FLORENCE, Wis. — Senior Lacey Enders and sophomore Evan Johnson were selected as the top female and male athletes at Florence High School, as the school recognized its athletes at the 2020-21 Athletic Awards night
Enders was the Ginny Ehrenreich Memorial female athlete of the year selection, while Johnson was the David Wenzel Memorial male athlete of the year selection. Johnson was also named co-MVP of both the baseball and boys basketball teams.
Senior Sidney Tomczak was a double award winner Wednesday as well, taking home the MVP awards in volleyball and softball. Junior Patrick Milan was named co-MVP in boys basketball while being named boys track MVP.
Other award winners from fall sports were: football, Corbin West, offensive MVP, Trent Watkins, defensive MVP, Cody Reubens, most improved, and Matthew Johnson and William Liebergen, V. Neuens Memorial; volleyball, Tyley Fyvie, most improved; cross country, Andy Hirn, MVP, Kiera Sullivan, most improved.
Other award winners from winter sports were: boys basketball, Dominic DeMuri, most improved; girls basketball, Isabella Millan, MVP, Lacey Enders, Bobcat Mentality; wrestling, Kaitlyn Kelley, MVP, Isaiah Fennessey, most improved.

Other award winners from spring sports were: softball, Paige Uren, outstanding offense, Isabella Millan, outstanding defense; golf, Matthew Johnson, MVP, Dominic DeMuri, most improved; track, William Liebergen, coaches’ choice; baseball, Cole Sweig, co-MVP.
The 2020-21 scholar athletes were also announced and recognized. Seniors Lacey Enders, Andrew Hirn and Sidney Tomczak were four-year honorees.
