NIAGARA, Wis. -- An eight-run second inning powered Niagara to an Marinette-Oconto Conference softball win Tuesday evening as they defeated St. Thomas Aquinas Academy here, 14-4, in five innings.
Noelle Champange toed the mound for the Lady Badgers as she also drove in five runs, scored twice and cracked a double. The senior hurler fanned four and walked two in the game.
Emma Broullire had three RBIs and two hits, and teammate Jadah McCarthy also had two hits for Niagara.
"Overall nice win tonight, as STAA is improving. They made us play tonight," Niagara head coach Brad Richtig said. "Also, Marina Jungst had two really good at bats for us tonight."
The Badgers return to action Thursday afternoon as they travel to Crivitz to complete their M&O slate and regular season schedule.
