Kingsford soccer tops Northland Pines Eagles

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — Kingsford scored two goals in each half and defeated Northland Pines 4-1 in boys soccer action Tuesday.

“Our team dominated the field by passing and scoring,” said Flivvers coach Jeff Gordon. “Every player made an impact in our win.”

Jaxon Buckley hit the net for the first score on a cross from Dennis Neuens off a pass from Gavin Laydon. Neuens scored the second goal after defenseman Eli Whittkopf made a long pass upfield.

In the second half, Gavin Moore passed to Buckley for his second goal. Buckley scored once more on a cross from Neuens for a 4-0 lead.

“Northland Pines scored their goal with six minutes left in the game,” Gordon said. “It was nice to get a couple players back from being sick,” he added.
