IRON MOUNTAIN — Three Kingsford girls tennis players received first-team honors when voting took place for All-Upper Peninsula girls tennis awards in Division 1.

Kingsford No. 1 singles player Ashlyn Blaskowski and No. 1 doubles duo Delaney Cram and Paige Janousek were the Flivvers named to the first team.

Top honors went to the winning and runner-up teams at the Sept. 29 MHSAA U.P. Finals.

Coaches whose teams were at the meet — Marquette, Escanaba, Gladstone, Menominee, Negaunee, Westwood and host Kingsford — voted for these honors. The meet was held at the Kingsford High School courts, Lodal Park and the East Side courts in Iron Mountain.

Westwood won the meet with 20 points, while Negaunee placed second with 15. Negaunee had a perfect 15-0 dual-meet record during the season.

The Miners’ Lilly Nelson was named Player of the Year, while the Patriots’ Sarah Massie earned Coach of the Year honors.

The other four teams at the finals each had at least two honorees.
