Trojans roar past Rockets
Forest Park improves to 6-0
CRYSTAL FALLS– Led by Sam McKissack’s 139 rushing yards, Forest Park rolled to a 69-32 win over Rapid River in Great Lakes Conference eight-player football Friday night at Dick Mettlach Field in Crystal Falls.
“A great team win, we were able to get scoring from a lot of players,” said Trojans coach Brian Fabbri.
Forest Park led 46-16 at halftime, with Will Curtis scoring on a 65-yard run and Payton Woollard connecting with Curtis on a 56-yard touchdown pass. Reagan Alder added TD runs of 16 and 36 yards.
The second-half scoring included a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Forest Park’s Devon Basirico.
Woollard ran for 2 TDs on the night while McKissack and Nik Stephens also had scoring runs.
The Trojans defense was paced by Tim McKissack with 11 tackles and Gabe Quevedo with nine. Stephens had eight tackles and an interception.
Forest Park (6-0) will host winless Gogebic-Bessemer on Friday for homecoming.
